Learn more about menopause defined and what age is menopause!

Do you know what is the typical age of menopause? Are you experiencing first signs of menopause? The average age of menopause onset is 51, plus or minus several years either way.

Several women experience what some would call premature menopause in their 30's. If you undergo a hysterectomy, cancer, chemotherapy, chronic stress, exposure to toxic chemicals and other health issues...you will go through menopause at a very young age.

Some women only experience hormone imbalance as late as their 60's because they did not have cancer or a hysterectomy and they have had a much healthier lifestyle.

If you stay healthy, keep your hormones balanced, stay active by exercising and avoid very stressful situations - it should help you with the transition into a more natural menopause.

Some women begin experiencing symptoms of hormone imbalance at anywhere from their early 30's to their late 40's, depending on several factors related to environment, heredity and how early you started having your period.

Menopause symptoms can range from mild night sweats and hot flashes to constant dripping sweats all day and night. Some women have very light periods for a few years or months, others have heavy bleeding for several years.

The types of symptoms you experience are often caused by hormone imbalance and they vary from person to person. Some women may never have headaches but, may become depressed frequently.

Hormone imbalance and menopausal symptoms are very much connected to your stress levels, nutritional deficiencies, no exercise, excessive drinking and environmental pollutants, chemicals or toxins exposed to on a daily basis.

Those women who are smokers will usually experience typical average age of menopause several years earlier due to smoking.

When women begin to miss ovulating, this means that they are not producing enough progesterone from the ovaries. They will begin experiencing average age of menopause and menopausal symptoms such as weight gain, water retention and mood swings.

Perimenopause age for women is one year to several years before the cessation of menstrual periods. The first signs of menopause are often associated with:

Hot flashes and night sweats,
• Mood swings, depression, irritability,
• Excessive vaginal dryness causing problems having sex,
• Sudden weight gain,
• Sleep problems and insomnia,
• Headaches and migraines,
• Chronic fatigue and low energy levels,
• Body aches and pains,
• Memory problems, lack of concentration,
• Low sex drive,
• Dry, thin, and wrinkly skin,
Hair loss, thinning hair,
• Hair growth in the wrong places and facial hair growth,
• Bone loss and osteoporosis.

In their early 30's, women can experience anovulatory menstrual cycles (without ovulation) and yet continue to have "regular periods" until their early fifties.

Menstrual cycles can continue even without the body producing progesterone, and many women are not aware that the lack of progesterone and the resulting hormone imbalance could be causing their symptoms.

During the months or perhaps even years that women experience anovulatory periods (without ovulation), estrogen production can become erratic - sometimes surges of high levels alternating with low levels.

Age and first signs of menopause means you may begin to experience erratic menstrual periods from very heavy to very little blood flow.

Breast swelling and tenderness, mood swings, water retention, sleep disturbances and perhaps the tendency for weight gain is usually related to higher levels of estrogen in the body.

These symptoms can be symptoms of estrogen dominance caused by lack of ovulation and lack of progesterone production. If you would like to determine exactly how deficient in natural progesterone (or estrogen) you are before beginning supplementation, or what your levels are as you proceed with supplementation, go to the hormone testing section.

It is important to restore your hormone levels in the body, because doing so will give you improved health and vitality during the age of menopause.

Here you find menopause defined! What many women forget is that the age of menopause and the basic definition is - the cessation of menstrual periods for 12 consecutive months.

But beware! Average age of menopause includes the premenopause symptoms that can begin as early as in your 30's!

Why?

Because menopause symptoms are the result of hormone imbalance, a process that begins sometimes twenty years before age of menopause actually takes place!

During the winding down before menopause, women may experience periods for several months and then they stop for several months...and they will decrease in duration, flow and intensity.

Many women find they are having some of these symptoms and brushing them off as a "bad day" - when actually they are clear warnings that changes are coming! Progesterone deficiency is the major cause of hormone imbalance, which in turn will give you menopausal symptoms.

If you are not ovulating, you are NOT producing progesterone (you can still have your periods but NOT be ovulating). And the lack of progesterone means the age of menopause (premenopause) can happen in your late 20's, 30's or 40's.

Hormone imbalance is defined as the incorrect relationship of progesterone and estrogen levels in the body.

Progesterone and estrogen are the two hormones that are supposed to be balanced in the body.

When progesterone no longer balances estrogen, your body may become exposed to a number of illnesses and hormone imbalance symptoms.

Estrogen promotes cell growth, and natural progesterone keeps that growth from going farther than is either necessary or healthy. The most important step in dealing with average age of menopause symptoms is balancing your hormones with bio-identical progesterone cream.

Most women have to juggle family and career, with little time for themselves...and they eat poorly as a result. The fast food society we live in does NOT supply the nutrients we need.

Women who have reached the average age of menopause should take a high-quality multiple vitamin/mineral formula that improves the sense of well-being, provides a sharper and clearer mind, a stronger heart and better sleep.

Omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) should be taken daily to help you improve and prevent arthritis signs, anxiety, depression, lower cholesterol and thin the blood, reducing your risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Many of these age of menopause problems can be minimized by good nutrition, reducing exposure to household toxins by using natural cleaning products, regular exercise, proper vitamin supplementation and using natural progesterone supplementation.
