What is adrenal exaustion? How does adrenal related exhaustion happen?
Adrenal... WHAT?
Yes - adrenal exhaustion and adrenal related exhaustion. And it happens often. Adrenals are our "stress glands" and they also produce progesterone in our body. You're aware of the adrenal glands, if only by name. Well, the health consequences of adrenal exhaustion can be severe!
The adrenal glands produce several steroids, most of which deal with reactions to stress generally, and with
the "fight or flight" responses. In very tiny amounts, the adrenal glands also produce all the sex hormones.
Now - you're probably aware our society has more stress than at any time in human history! Your over-burdened adrenal glands can rob your body of the building blocks it uses to make estrogen and testosterone, which are vital to desire and sexual response, for example. This is called adrenal exhaustion.
Most women have to juggle family and career with other concerns. So they eat poorly, give themselves no time to exercise, take no vitamins, and expose themselves to environmental toxins on a daily basis.
Not only do the adrenals work overtime to deal with the stress, poor nutrition and they also try with little success to make up for declining progesterone levels - until they literally tire themselves out. That's adrenal exhaustion. Most of the progesterone produced by the adrenal glands is converted into the corticosteroid hormones.
Sustained high cortisol destroys healthy muscle and bone; slows down healing and normal cell replacement; coopts biochemicals needed to make other vital hormones; impairs digestion, metabolism and mental function; interferes with healthy endocrine function; and weakens your immune system.
Adrenal dysfunction may be a factor in many related conditions, including fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, premature menopause and others. It may also produce a host of other unpleasant symptoms, from acne to hair loss.
When natural progesterone production drops in the body, the normal conversion by the adrenal glands cannot happen. This immediately causes salt buildup, fluid retention, and hypoglycemia. Then the adrenals begin to produce their steroids at some lower level, and the body is now set for long term disease, since the body no longer works as well with these lower levels of steroids.
When menopause arrives, most women have some level of osteoporosis. Doctors can measure both the progress of osteoporosis and the lowering of estrogen levels in the body. Doctors COULD also measure the lowering of progesterone levels, but they typically DON'T.

Dr John R. Lee discusses adrenal exhaustion as part of his overall pioneering work in women's health. He has trained doctors and treated women in hormone balance, premenopause and menopause health, and health problems such as adrenal related exhaustion.
Select from any of these authoritative sources to broaden your background on your own health, and what you can do to make your own situation better. And DON'T be afraid to get a gift for a friend who may have similar needs!
Dr. Lee makes the point that when the various systems of the body lose some percentage of their adrenal steroids, their functions begin to be out of balance with each other - setting the stage for illness.
WOMEN in their 30's are at RISK!
That's right - 30's!
If you're female and in your 30's or older - you may now be running an estrogen surplus, which will trigger premenopause symptoms and early signs of menopause! You're also very likely to be entering into adrenal exhaustion, if you haven't already.
What are the symptoms of adrenal exhaustion?
Adrenal exhaustion will give you symptoms such as:
• weight gain
• blood sugar imbalances
• thinning skin
• muscle wasting
• depression, fatigue
• low blood pressure
• allergies and asthma
• inability to cope with stress
• low metabolism
• decreased thyroid function
• irregular menstrual cycles
• infertility
• fibrocystic breasts
• anovulatory periods
• other signs of aging.
Adrenal exhaustion is a result of stress, vitamin C deficiency and natural progesterone deficiency.
Women who are experiencing adrenal exhaustion problems should drink only filtered water to avoid fluoride. Most tap water has toxins (like PCB's), pesticides, heavy metals and chlorine that should be avoided. To buy bottled water is also another possibility. The best solution is to buy a good water filter. You will be surprise how much better filtered water will taste as oppose to regular water.
Don't forget - estrogen increases body fat. Progesterone on the other hand helps the body burn fat for energy. Estrogen increases blood clotting, progesterone normalizes blood clotting. Estrogen impairs blood sugar control, but progesterone normalizes blood sugar levels...and so on...
Progesterone deficiency causes a great deal of symptoms and suffering in women. Using Natural Progesterone Cream will help you support your adrenal hormone production and can help eliminate your menopausal symptoms and adrenal exhaustion symptoms.
There is a safe, natural solution you can use at home to eliminate adrenal exhaustion.
